Our Commitment to Community

Why we created tayozola.org and what giving back looks like for a small infrastructure company that thinks long-term.

We didn't create tayozola.org because it was expected. We created it because we genuinely believe that a company's relationship with its community is one of the most important things it can build — and that belief should show up in the structure of the organization, not just in a footnote on the about page.

Why a separate domain

Keeping the community work on its own domain was a deliberate choice. It signals that this isn't a marketing exercise. Tayozola.org has its own identity, its own focus, and its own accountability. It's not a tab on our main site — it's a property we take seriously.

Giving back shouldn't be an afterthought. We wanted it to be structural — built into how we operate from the beginning.

What community means to us

For us, community isn't just the people who use our products. It includes the broader ecosystem we operate in — the people who taught us what we know, the neighborhoods and networks that shaped how we think, and the next generation of builders who are just getting started.

We're a small company with limited resources, which means we have to be intentional about where we direct our attention and support. We focus on education, access, and infrastructure — because those are the areas where we can have the most meaningful impact with what we have.

What this looks like in practice

In our first year, that's meant a small number of direct commitments: supporting programs that help young people access technology education, contributing to open infrastructure projects, and being thoughtful about who we hire and how we work.

We're not announcing a foundation or a giving program with a fancy name. We're doing the work quietly and building toward something more formal as we grow. You'll hear more about specific initiatives through this journal.

The long view

We think about this in decades, not quarters. The kind of company we want to be at year ten looks very different from what we are today — and building that future means making small, consistent choices now that add up over time.

Tayozola.org is one of those choices. We hope it earns your trust over the years ahead.
