Our Commitment to Community
Why the community work has its own site and how we decide where to contribute.
We created tayozola.org so the community work would not be reduced to a paragraph on the company page. Giving it a separate home also makes it easier for people to see what we are actually doing.
Why a separate domain
Tayozola.org has its own focus and record of activity. That separation gives the work room to develop and makes it harder for us to hide behind broad statements.
If we say community work matters, people should be able to see the work and judge it for themselves.
What community means to us
Our community includes more than product users. It includes teachers, neighbors, professional networks, and people who are just beginning to build with technology.
The Tayozola Foundation concentrates on environmental health and community uplift. Its role is to highlight established organizations doing meaningful work and help more people find practical ways to contribute.
What this looks like in practice
The Foundation does not need to invent new programs to be useful. It can direct attention toward organizations already doing careful work, encourage people to volunteer their time, and build partnerships around shared values of impact and care.
Specific organizations, causes, and ways to participate belong on tayozola.org. The Journal gives us room to explain the thinking behind that work.
The long view
For now, the useful approach is to make commitments we can keep, report what happened, and adjust when something does not work.
Tayozola.org is one of those choices. We hope it earns your trust over the years ahead.
